The Pioneers has some news to share with our friends and supporters.
Our SBP Director, Tom Clavell, and the Board of Directors have elected to make some changes at Pioneers and return to our former structure prior to Tom being elevated from House manager to Director. As such, Tom will step aside from his role at Pioneers.
The Board is grateful to Tom for his 16 years of service to the organization. Originally our House Manager, Tom essentially became an advocate for the organization. In a few years, the Board chose to create and elevate Tom to the role of Director and hire an additional person to fill the role of House Manager so Tom could focus on addressing numerous facilities maintenance issues and improvements, outreach, fundraising, social media creation and content. Tom and our Board worked together to create numerous campaigns, a monthly giving program and to establish a monthly newsletter. Tom and the Auxiliary worked together to create new events for fellowship and fundraising. With these and others things accomplished, the Board of Directors, having worked closely with Tom for many years now, stands ready for his departure.
Moving forward, the Pioneers is highly focused on serving our residents. Our House Manager, Mike Richard will continue to oversee the daily operation of the house in its’ primary function as a structured sober living home and as a meeting hall for AA groups. This is and will continue to be our mission or primary purpose. The Board of Directors will continue to advance efforts established by the Board and Tom where applicable.
The Pioneers wishes to thank Tom again for his numerous contributions and thank you all for support of the organization and your support of the staff at Pioneers during this transition.
