3/24/20 Update – Our Facility will remain closed. Next update on April 1st, 2020.

Dear Friends,

Please be advised that while it was our sincere hope to remain operational amid the current situation and after much consideration and conversation, The South Bay Pioneers has made the difficult decision to suspend daily activities open to the general public at our facility effective immediately. This includes all meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous held at our facility. We do so in effort to follow the guidelines related to the spread and containment of the COVID-19 virus that have been issued by The Centers for Disease Control and in cooperation with Emergency Declarations by the Federal, State, County and City Government. Equally important, we do so in order to meet our responsibility to our residents, our volunteers, our staff and of course to members of the public who frequent our facility.

This is not a decision that was made lightly as we know and understand the importance of meetings. In lieu of meeting attendance here at Pioneers we encourage our meeting attendees to listen or download the AA speakers available on our website. https://sbpioneers.org/saturday-night-speaker-meeting/

We also invite you to fellowship with us on our Facebook Page or, as you have heard in every AA meeting ever, to pick up the phone and call another alcoholic should the need arise. We would further suggest that persons contact AA San Diego Central Office at http://www.aasandiego.org/ or 619.265.8762 for a list of alternate meeting places.

The South Bay Pioneers has always aimed to serve the greater good and we feel strongly that in the big picture this decision does just that. We do apologize for the very short notice due to the rapidly evolving circumstance. Our office will remain staffed during our regular hours should you have any questions for us. We are monitoring all announcements and consulting with our Board and others in our community. Please check our Facebook Page or website for daily updates. There will be a scheduled update on April 1st, 2020.

Yours in Service,

Tom Clavell
